Changelog

Customer-facing changes to the API, WebSocket, webhooks and plans, newest first. Many of these started as a customer request; if you need something that is missing, email us.

  1. Play corrections and clearer key errors

    • New opt-in event_play_corrected (webhook: event.play_corrected): when the source revises a play we already sent, you get the updated play with its original id and corrected: true.
    • A rejected API key now says the likely cause: quotes or a placeholder left in, a cut-off key, a key from another service, or "Bearer" written twice.
    • If a webhook is paused after repeated failed deliveries, its owner now gets an email with how to fix and re-enable it.
  2. Update frequency now keeps the latest update for every game

    • With a slower WebSocket or webhook frequency (30s, 1m, 5m, 10m or 30m), each tick now delivers the latest clock/period and odds update for every game, instead of a single message per subscription.
    • Plays, score changes, game start, finals and postponed, delayed or cancelled status updates are always sent immediately and are never held back or dropped.
    • Webhooks now honour the frequency setting the same way WebSocket subscriptions do.
  3. MLB play details on plays and WebSocket

    • Baseball plays, including WebSocket event_play messages, carry the play type (type.slug), half-inning and outs.
  4. MLB live inning state

    • Live baseball events include status.inning: inning number, half, outs, balls, strikes and runners on first, second and third.
  5. Richer injury and availability data

    • Injuries and player availability include a record id, an expected return date when one is published, and practice participation (DNP, limited or full) read from the injury note.
    • Player availability snapshots now run every 5 minutes (previously 30), so availability history picks up changes sooner.
  6. Scoreboard widget, keyless playground and free-plan top-ups

    • Free embeddable scoreboard widget for one league, no API key needed, at /widgets.
    • Try real read-only requests in the browser without a key or signup in the docs playground.
    • Free accounts can buy a one-time top-up of 1,000 calls for $5 (up to twice a month, no subscription).
  7. Extra WebSocket connections

    • On monthly paid plans with overage on, you can open WebSocket connections beyond your plan (up to 3x its limit) at $0.02 per extra connection-hour.
  8. MCP server, status page, Growth plan and more reliable push delivery

    • Hosted MCP server at /api/mcp so Claude, Cursor, VS Code and ChatGPT can query live sports data with your API key.
    • Public status page at /status, with a JSON health endpoint at /api/health.
    • Complete OpenAPI spec at /openapi.json and a Postman collection at /postman.json.
    • New Growth plan ($49/month, 25,000 calls), a monthly/annual toggle, and opt-in overage with a monthly cap you control.
    • WebSocket messages carry a sequence number; after a reconnect or server restart you can resume from your last sequence and receive what you missed.
    • Webhook retries with backoff, timestamped signatures (X-Webhook-Signature-V2) and retry status in delivery history.
    • The free plan's 500-message WebSocket preview works as advertised.
  9. News archive and availability by week

    • Availability history entries include the season and week, so they can be joined to that week's schedule.
    • News can be filtered by athlete, date range and page, and the new /news/history endpoint queries an hourly archive that begins on 2026-09-02.
  10. Complete per-team injury report

    • Filtering injuries with ?team= now returns the team's full report instead of a truncated list.
  11. Webhook management API and faster NFL updates

    • Manage webhooks with your API key through /api/v1/webhooks: create, update, send tests, read delivery history and manage the signing secret.
    • Disabling a webhook stops deliveries within about a second; a webhook is auto-deactivated only after 5 consecutive failed deliveries.
    • Lower latency for live plays, especially NFL games.
  12. Webhook testing and delivery logs

    • Send a sample of any webhook event type from the dashboard and inspect the exact request headers, body and your server's response.
    • Delivery history shows failed deliveries with the response code, and each failed delivery can be replayed.
  13. Player availability history, win probability and game rosters

    • Player availability history: a league-wide feed of designation changes and a per-athlete timeline.
    • Win probability and drives endpoint for football games.
    • Game rosters with starter and did-not-play flags, and a documented /penalties route.
    • Reveal or rotate a webhook's signing secret from the dashboard.
  14. Football player box scores and historical rosters

    • Box scores for NFL and college football include player stats by category (passing, rushing, receiving, defense, kicking, returns).
    • Rosters accept ?season=YYYY for past seasons; the teams endpoint supports limit and page.
    • Annual billing on paid plans (12 months for the price of 10).
  15. Faster live polling

    • Leagues with a game in progress are checked about every 5 seconds, and games going live are announced sooner.
  16. More reliable WebSocket and soccer delivery

    • WebSocket keepalives every 15 seconds prevent idle disconnects, and live soccer events are delivered more reliably.
  17. Transactions and player availability on every plan

    • New transactions and player-availability endpoints. Injuries, availability, transactions, news and depth charts are available on all plans.
  18. Injuries, depth charts and news

    • New endpoints for injuries, team depth charts and league news.
  19. Athlete stats, game logs and rosters

    • Athlete stats and game logs, team rosters, athlete search, tournaments, and richer play participants.
  20. Faster soccer webhooks

    • Soccer webhook delivery time cut from about 15 seconds to about 3 seconds.
  21. More soccer competitions

    • Additional soccer leagues and cups are monitored live.
  22. Box scores and athlete stats

    • New box score endpoint (extended to soccer and baseball on 2026-02-27), a halftime flag on events, and real season stats on athlete endpoints.
  23. WebSockets and webhooks on Starter

    • Starter includes WebSockets and webhooks, sharing one monthly pool with REST calls.
  24. X-API-Key header

    • Send your key as X-API-Key when a proxy strips the Authorization header.
  25. Betting odds

    • Spread, moneyline and over/under odds per event, odds history, ?includeOdds=true on event lists, and odds-change events over webhooks and WebSocket.
  26. Configurable event frequency

    • Choose how often webhooks and WebSocket subscriptions deliver updates: asap, 30s, 1m, 5m, 10m or 30m.

Endpoint details are in the docs and the OpenAPI spec. Live service health is on the status page.
