1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Realtime Sports API ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Realtime Sports API provides real-time and historical sports data through a REST API. The Service includes access to live scores, play-by-play data, team information, athlete statistics, and other sports-related data across multiple sports and leagues.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

  • Create an account with accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Be at least 13 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. API Usage and Rate Limits

4.1 Rate Limits

API usage is subject to rate limits based on your subscription tier:

  • Free Tier: 125 calls per month (1,000 in your first month), 1 call per second, plus any one-time top-up calls bought that month (section 5.1)
  • Starter: 10,000 calls per month, 5 calls per second
  • Pro: 50,000 calls per month, 20 calls per second
  • Scale: 500,000 calls per month, 100 calls per second

4.2 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Exceed your rate limits or attempt to circumvent them
  • Use the Service for illegal purposes
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Resell or redistribute API data without authorization
  • Use automated tools to abuse or overload the Service
  • Share your API key with unauthorized parties

5. Subscription and Payment

5.1 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. You are responsible for providing accurate payment information.

New paid subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial (14 days for an account that signed up through another customer's referral link), limited to one per customer (per account, email address or payment card). During the trial, usage is capped at 10,000 calls per month on every plan. If a payment card has already been used for a free trial, the new subscription is billed from the start. You can end the trial early from your dashboard to start your paid plan immediately.

Overage (monthly plans, after any trial): usage beyond your plan is billed at $0.002 per unit up to the monthly overage cap you set. Each plan includes a number of concurrent WebSocket connections; with overage on, extra connections beyond that number (up to three times it) are billed at $0.02 per extra connection-hour, metered in whole 6-minute blocks and counted toward the same cap. Extra connections are allowed by default and can be turned off in your dashboard. When the cap is reached, new extra connections are refused and existing extra connections are closed.

One-time top-ups (free plan): an account on the free allowance may buy 1,000 extra calls for $5, up to twice per calendar month (UTC). Purchased calls are added to that month's call allowance for REST API and MCP requests, expire at the end of that calendar month (UTC) and do not carry over or convert to credit. A top-up is a single payment, not a subscription, and does not change your plan. A top-up charged beyond the twice-a-month limit is refunded automatically.

5.2 Refunds

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. Refund requests must be made within 7 days of initial subscription. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for the remaining period.

6. Service Availability

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and no uptime commitment or service level agreement (SLA) is offered unless agreed in a separate written agreement signed by us. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, upstream data source outages, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any damages resulting from service interruptions.

7. Data and Intellectual Property

7.1 Sports Data

Sports data provided through the Service, including but not limited to scores, statistics, schedules, and team information, is aggregated from publicly available sources. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official data provider for any league, team, or governing body, and team names, logos, and league marks belong to their respective owners. Your subscription gives you access to the Service under these Terms; it does not transfer ownership of any data. You may not claim ownership of this data or use it to create competing services.

7.2 Your Data

You retain ownership of any data you create using our Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to use your data to provide and improve the Service.

7.3 Data Accuracy

We do not warrant that any data provided through the Service is accurate, complete, or timely. Data may contain errors, omissions, or corrections from upstream sources, and live data is typically delayed behind real-world action (often 20–30 seconds, sometimes longer). You are responsible for verifying data before relying on it.

7.4 Informational Use Only; No Wagering

Data, odds, line movement, predictions, and Betting Intel content are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They are not wagering, financial, or investment advice and should not be relied on for wagering decisions. Realtime Sports API is not a sportsbook, does not accept or place wagers, and does not handle entry fees or payouts for any game or contest, including squares pools. You are solely responsible for complying with the gambling laws that apply to you and your users.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DATA PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR TIMELY.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Realtime Sports API, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
